The accused, Bommera Bapu Swamy alias Shiva Swamy, a resident of Anupuram near Vemulawada, posed as an astrologer and faith healer to deceive women, according to Medak Superintendent of Police D. Uday Kumar Reddy.

Shiva Swamy claimed to cure mental and physical ailments through special pujas. During these rituals, he allegedly spiked the victims’ drinks with sleeping pills, rendering them unconscious. Lavish Lifestyle from Ill-Gotten Gains

With the money extorted from victims, the accused led a luxurious lifestyle, traveling in a high-end car and distributing visiting cards to attract more women. The police revealed that despite only studying up to Class 7, he managed to convince many about his so-called divine powers.

SP Uday Kumar Reddy urged people not to fall prey to such fraudulent ‘babas’ and emphasized that no one without medical expertise can cure diseases. During the investigation, police recovered dozens of explicit videos of different women from the accused’s possession.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. (Maxim News)
