Falaknuma Police Arrests Man with Illegal Knife

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, along with Falaknuma Police, arrested a man who was found wandering suspiciously late at night while carrying a prohibited knife, which is illegal under the Arms Act.

Details of the Accused:

  • Name: Mohd Abdul Ansar alias Quayyum Baa
  • Age: 24 years
  • Occupation: AC Technician
  • Residence: Falaknuma, Hyderabad
  • Criminal Record: Listed as a Rowdy Sheeter at Falaknuma Police Station; involved in murder and dacoity cases.

Item Seized:

  • One knife

Incident Details:

Mohd Abdul Ansar, a resident of Hyderabad, works as an AC Technician to support his family. However, due to his criminal background, a Rowdy Sheet was opened against him. He has previously been involved in serious crimes like murder and dacoity, with pending Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) against him at Malkajgiri and Bhavani Nagar Police Stations.

Late at night, he was seen moving around suspiciously in the Falaknuma area while illegally carrying a knife. Police suspect he had intentions to cause public disturbance.

After receiving a tip-off, the Task Force and Falaknuma Police acted quickly and arrested him. The knife was seized, and he was handed over to Falaknuma Police Station for further legal action.

Case Details:

  • A case has been registered under Cr. No.59/2025 U/s 25 (1B)(b) of the Arms Act.
  • The investigation is ongoing.

Warning from Police:

The Hyderabad Police warns that carrying deadly weapons is a serious offense. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the Arms Act. Citizens are urged not to engage in such illegal activities.

Police Team Involved in the Arrest:

The operation was led by Inspector S. Raghavendra, along with SIs G. Anjaneyulu, K. Narsimulu, M. Mahesh, N. Naveen, and the Task Force, South Zone Team, in coordination with Falaknuma Police.
