A serious road accident occurred in Nalgonda district on Saturday morning when an Innova car lost control and overturned at a U-turn on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway 65 near Gundrampally in Chityala mandal. The speeding car crashed into the divider before overturning and catching fire, resulting in complete damage to the vehicle.
According to the report, there were eight passengers in the car at the time of the accident. Fortunately, all of them managed to escape safely before the fire spread. Witnesses said panic spread on the highway as flames engulfed the vehicle soon after it overturned. The quick response of nearby commuters helped ensure everyone got out unharmed.
Soon after the incident, the fire brigade arrived at the scene and put out the blaze. The accident caused a major traffic jam on the busy Hyderabad–Vijayawada route, with long queues of vehicles forming at the site. Police and highway authorities arrived shortly after to clear the road and restore traffic flow. Officials confirmed that the burnt vehicle was later moved aside to ease congestion.
The local police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the cause of the accident. Preliminary information suggests that the Innova lost control while turning at high speed. However, further examination is underway to determine the exact reason behind the mishap. Commuters traveling on the route experienced temporary delays but resumed movement after the vehicle was removed.
