Fight until Centre get our paddy, Sanjay misguided farmers: KTR

Hyderabad, Nov.12 (Maxim News): Minister for IT and Municipal Administration, KT Rama Rao today launched a blitzkrieg against the Centre and the BJP leadership for refusing to procure paddy grains from Telangana state.

The centre is selling all PSUs and denying procurement of paddy stocks from the state, he charged. He vowed that the TRS will continue the fight until the Centre buys our paddy.

Addressing a mammoth protest meeting by the TRS leaders at Siricilla district, KT Rama Rao took serious exception to the Centre and BJP leaders for adopting dual standards on paddy procurement.

It is a shame on the part of the union ministers and the Centre for this sorry state of affairs, he expressed displeasure. While we call it Jai Kisan the Centre says Nai Kisan and duping the farmers in the country, he said.

Due to bankrupt and failure policies of the centre India occupies 102nd position in world hunger index which is far behind Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan. Instead of exporting the stocks while feeding the poor the Centre has to clear the stocks from all states.

Entire nation has about 40 cr acres and 65tmc water and half of the sources are sufficient to address the same issues, he said. The farmers should think as to why they came onto streets, he urged.

Our farmers are growing about 3 cr tons of food grains as 11 other states copied our programs, and the Centre too replicated our rythu bandhu scheme, KTR claimed.

Unlike other states Telangana gives Rs 10,000 per acre to each farmer through Rythu Bandhu, Rs 5 lakhs insurance through Rythu Bhima and irrigated lakhs of acres to barren lands by constructing Kaleshwaram project, the minister said.

Siricilla area is looking like a Delta area with abundant waters and credit goes to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, he added.

He said that the TRS will continue to fight until the Centre comes down and lifts our paddy grains. Who will procure and export the paddy from the state if not the Centre, KT Rama Rao asked in a loud voice.

The state BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay misguided the farmers and cheated the people of the state, he charged. The Centre refused to procure paddy and the BJP MP asked to cultivate paddy in the state, the minister fumed.

Sanjay provoked the farmers to take up paddy cultivation while the BJP led Centre spoke against procuring the same stocks from our state.

We get a chance to feed our farmers for a day as they provide food to the entire country, KT Rama Rao said in the meeting amid applause.

The BJP MP and leaders of the saffron party only rake up Hindu and Muslim communal card, he said. The Centre has always been remaining ignorant at our pleas for development and funds, the minister fumed.

The Centre led by Modi Government deliberately ignored Niti Ayog recommendations to give about Rs 24000 cr towards Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya the flagship programs, he said. (Maxim News)
