Fishermen are Enjoying Happiest Moments: Talasani

Hyderabad, June 8 (Maxim News): Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the fishermen in Telangana are now enjoying the happiest moments in their life as their income has increased in manifold through the sale of fishes.

Marking the first day of Mrigasira Karthi, a group of fishermen community from Toopran village of Gajwel Assembly constituency called on Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav here on Wednesday and handed over Korrameenu fishes to him.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that because of water availability due to construction of many irrigation projects and revival of village tanks under the Mission Kakatiya, the fish production has increased in manifold and the State is going to emerge the self-reliant in the fish production.

As per the direction of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the fish seedlings is being supplied to the fishermen at free of cost and the fish rearing is taking place in all the water bodies across the State. With this, the fishermen are earning a good amount of revenue through the sale of fishes and they are enjoying the good days of life, the Minister said.

Stating that the government has focused on fish seed rearing and production for tapping the enormous fisheries potential in Telangana, Srinivas Yadav execuded confidence that the State would become a self-reliance in fish production in the days to come. (Maxim News)
