Former GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan Looks Towards BJP

Hyderabad, Aug 23 (Maxim News): Former GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, who is known to be the closest to Minister K. Tarak Rama Rao is looking towards the BJP. There is a strong campaign going on in the constituency that he will join BJP if everything goes well. 

He tried hard for the BRS ticket from Uppal Constituency till the end and failed.  since there are no opportunities from that party and he is determined to become an MLA anyway, there are strong speculations that he will change the party. BJP leaders and activists are saying that Bonthu Rammohan will join their party. 

Bonthu Rammohan was active as an ABVP student leader rin Osmania University.  He participated in many movements and established relations with the big leader of the BJP. It is said that these good relations are pushing him to take steps toward BJP. The same discussion has been going on for two days in Uppal Constituency.  Local BJP leaders say that even during his tenure as the Mayor of the city, he had good relations with the state and Central BJP leaders.  He came to TRS from ABVp and played a key role in student movements as the state president.  Later, he won as a corporator from the Charlapally division and became the mayor of the city on the orders of KCR.  Apart from playing a key role in the development of the city, he is recognized as a close friend of Minister K.Tarak Rama Rao as a state-level leader.  A lot of effort goes into making every public meeting organized by BRS a success. 

He insisted on the BRS ticket in the 2018 Assembly elections from Uppal when the post of Mayor was still a few months away.  But then an MLA ticket was given to Beti Subhas Reddy and Bonthu Rammohan was appeased and his candidate worked for victory.  In the subsequent general elections, his wife Bonthu Sridevi won as Corporator from Charlapalli division in his place, since then he has been active in Uppal Constituency. 

As a Mayor, he has been promoting the development of the Uppal area and has been carrying out the party programs with the support of his followers, former Corporators, and some corporators. They came expecting a BRS ticket even in the 2023 Assembly elections and were finally disappointed. With this, it seems that there is a determination to contest from any other party.  In this process, it seems that he is leaning towards BJP with whom he has had good relations from the beginning.  (Maxim News)
