Former Union Minister Ratan Lal Kataria No More

Chandigarh: Ratan Lal Kataria, a former Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Ambala in Haryana, breathed his last this morning after battling with illness. The veteran politician had been undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Chandigarh.

Ratan Lal Kataria, who served as the Union Minister for Jal Shakti and Social Justice in the Modi cabinet from 2019 to 2021, had been unwell for some time. His demise has left the political fraternity in mourning.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar offered their heartfelt condolences to the family of Ratan Lal Kataria. The prime minister hailed Kataria’s contributions during his tenure as a minister and acknowledged his dedication towards serving the nation.

Survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son, Ratan Lal Kataria will be laid to rest at Manimajra, Chandigarh, in the afternoon. The final rites are expected to be attended by political colleagues, friends, and family members, who will pay their last respects to the departed leader.
