The ED has clarified to the ACB that it should provide complete details of the amount transferred and the dates on which the money transfer took place. Even though the ED officials have inquired as part of the regular process, the anxiety among the BRS ranks and leaders is increasing. There are allegations that payments were made to a foreign company in violation of the rules in the organization of the Formula-E car race.
The Income Tax Department has imposed a fine of Rs. 8,06,75,404 on HMDA for transferring Rs. 45.71 crore abroad without informing the RBI, In addition, HMDA paid another huge amount to the Federation Internationale Automobile and the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India in the form of the various fees. According to HMDa rules, permission from the government and the finance department is mandatory for making payments of more than Rs. 10 crore. But, none of those rules were ignored at that time.
