G Kishan Reddy apologises to Atchannaidu
Bhimavaram, July 5: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy apologised to Andhra Pradesh TDP president Atchannaidu for preventing Prime Minister Narendra Modi from arriving at the helipad here.
Kishan Reddy told the media that the Centre invited TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu to participate in the ceremony to unveil a 30-foot bronze statue of legendary freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district. However, Chandrababu sent Atchannaidu to the event as his representative.
However, the PMO did not include Atchannaidu’s name in the protocol list. West Godavari Collector P. Prasanthi stopped the AP TDP chief on his way to the helipad because his name was not on the list. He was enraged that he had been insulted after receiving an invitation to participate in the programme. Atchannaidu held the ruling YSRCP government accountable for the blunder. Somu Veerraju, president of the AP BJP, and other BJP leaders were present.
