Gaddam Prasad As New Speaker Of The Telangana Assembly

Hyderabad, Dec 14 (Maxim News): Vikarabad MLA Gaddam Prasad Kumar was officially announced as Telangana Assembly Speaker by otem Speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi.  

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Ministers, Ruling party and Opposition parties MLAs  congratulated the Speaker.

Gaddam Prasad Kumar was unanimously elected as Telangana Assembly speaker, after the deadline for nominations for the election of the Speaker. Only one nomination was filed. Only Gaddam Prasad Kumar filed nomination from Congress, with this the speaker was unanimous.

Gaddam Prasad Kumar is a senior leader in the Congress Party. He has experience of working as a minister in the United Andhra Pradesh state. At that time Prasad Kumar was the Minister of Handloom and Small Scale Industries. Born in Marpalli village of Vikarabad district in 1964, Prasad Kumar studied till Intermediate in Tandoor.

During the Telangana movement, he contested from the Vikarabad constituency in the by-elections held in 2008 and won as a candidate of the Congress party.  After that he won the 2009 election as well.  In 2012, under the Kiran Kumar Reddy government, he worked as the Minister of handloom and small Scale Industries.  (Maxim News)
