GHMC Budget 2026 27 | Hyderabad, Jan 31 (Maxim News): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation approved a Rs 11,460 crore budget for the 2026 27 financial year, focusing on urban infrastructure and civic services.
The budget proposal received unanimous approval at the Standing Committee meeting chaired by Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi.
Notably, allocations are higher than last year, reflecting expanded development priorities across Greater Hyderabad.
Major focus areas include road expansion, sanitation management, and development of merged municipalities.
Of the total outlay, Rs 9,200 crore has been earmarked for the existing GHMC limits, while Rs 2,260 crore has been allocated for 27 newly merged municipalities.

To address rising traffic congestion, the civic body has allocated Rs 1,720 crore for new flyovers and road maintenance works.
Additionally, Rs 590 crore has been set aside to enhance urban greenery through a dedicated greening programme.
In view of recurring monsoon flooding, the Strategic Nala Development Plan has received an allocation of Rs 550 crore.
The plan aims to strengthen stormwater drainage and reduce flood risks in vulnerable localities.
Officials said the GHMC budget 2026 27 will be funded through property tax collections, town planning fees, and government grants.
The budget reflects the corporation’s stated objective of supporting sustained urban growth while improving basic civic infrastructure. (Maxim News)
