GHMC Cracked Down Illegal Construction Near KBR Park

Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): The GHMC launched a crackdown on illegal constructions near KBR Park in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad today. Officials removed an illegally constructed food court near Gate No. 3 of KBR Park. In addition, Casadi Latte near Gate No. 2 and Chichas restaurant near Gate No. 3 were seized for operating without paying taxes.

Authorities stated that strict action will be taken against encroachments on government land, unauthorized constructions, and illegal commercial operations. Meanwhile, pedestrians continue to face serious difficulties due to encroachments on footpaths across Hyderabad.

In the past, the High Court criticized the encroachments and poor maintenance of footpaths. In response, GHMC only made temporary repairs in select locations and submitted photographs to the court, failing to implement a permanent solution.

Now, with the completion of the maintenance period of major roads under the Comprehensive Road Maintenance Program (CRMP), the responsibility of footpath maintenance falls on GHMC. However, due to lack of focused attention, footpaths remain neglected along with road infrastructure. (Maxim News)
