GHMC invites bids for the demolition of the Deccan store

GHMC | Hyderabad, January 25: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials are making arrangements to demolish the building where a huge fire broke out at Deccan Sports Store in Ramgopalpet under Secunderabad.

Officials have invited tenderers regarding the demolition of the building. GHMC has invited tenders for Rs.38.86 lakhs for the demolition of the Deccan Sports Wear building which is 1890 square feet.

It is advised to use advanced machinery for demolition and demolition without causing any danger to the surrounding people.

It is to mention here that On the 19th of this month, the five-storied building of Deccan Stores was caught on fire. A fire broke out on the ground floor of a sports store selling sports goods and equipment and spread to the upper floors.

Officials claimed that a huge fire broke out as most of the sports equipment was made of plastic, resin, and cotton fabric in the building. The fire broke out at 11.30 am and was brought under control by night.

Firefighters brought the fire under control with around 20 fire engines and a large number of GHMC water tanks. It is known that for almost two days it was not possible to enter the building.

Three workers died in the fire. The building became dangerous due to heavy fire. In this order, the officials who inspected the building decided to demolish it. It is in this context that tenders have been invited for demolition.
