GHMC Plans 30 Day Care Centers For Senior Citizens

Hyderabad, Aug.9 (Maxim News): As GHMC was providing most of the basic amenities to the citizens, the Corporation wants to reach further by providing the much needed Day Care Centers for senior citizens, Commissioner Dana Kishore said here today.

The Commissioner held a meeting with the Aasara Committee membersand Senior Citizens. During the meeting, the Commissioner said the GHMC plans to provide 30 Day Care Centers for Senior Citizens and in these centers, facilities like Yoga, physiotherapy, palliative services will be available.

Since, the GHMC was providing facilities to the citizens in all the segments, the need was felt to provide Day Care Centers to the Senior Citizens. If they are fit, they can take care of their own needs as it gives them confidence, respect, better living, and better health and less dependence on their family members, said the Commissioner.

A sports competition will be conducted on August 14 to the Senior Citizens, in 6 events like Chess, Lemon and Spoon, Shuttle Badminton, Brisk Walking and so on at the Victory Play Ground (Chaderghat) and Sachivalaya Nagar (Hayathnagar), the Commissioner added.(Maxim News)
