GITAM To Honour Pranab Mukherjee On It’s Foundation Day

Hyderabad, Aug.6 (Maxim News): Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) is going to celebrate ‘39th Foundation Day’ at Dr. Yellapragada Subbarao Auditorium, GITAM Campus on August 10, at 3 PM.

The former President of India Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee will be the Chief Guest on this occasion. GITAM is going to honor Pranab with the GITAM Foundation Award for his exemplary service to the nation. Mukherjee is a man of unparalleled experience in governance with the rare distinction of having served at different times as Foreign, Defence, Commerce and Finance Minister. Over five decades of exemplary service, Pranab was elected to the Rajya Sabha five times and twice to the Lok Sabha.

Presentation of GITAM Foundation Award will be held in the presence of M. Sri Bharat, President, GITAM and the program will be presided over by Prof. K. Siva Rama Krishna, Vice-Chancellor, GITAM.

‘GITAM Foundation Award’ is instituted with a benevolent donation by Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi with a corpus of Rs.3 crores. The award consisting of a plaque and a cheque for Rs.10 lakhs is presented to the eminent personality in recognition of the services to humanity on that day.(Maxim News)
