Giving 10 Percent Of The 42 Percent Reservation To Muslims Would Be Unfair To BCS: Bandi Sanjay
Karimnagar/Hyderabad, July 15 (Maxim News): Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay stated that allocating 10 percent of the proposed 42 percent reservation in Telangana to Muslims would be a grave injustice to BCs (Backward Classes). He warned that if such a decision is made, BJP will launch protests inside and outside the Assembly. He emphasized that the BJP will support only if Muslims are removed from the BC list.
He questioned, “Will 100 percent reservation be given to Muslims, who comprise only 12 percent of Telangana’s population?” and asked why BCs, who form 51 percent of the population, would get only 32 percent reservation. He claimed that BCs would end up with only 5 percent extra, and announced that a movement will soon be launched to protest this perceived injustice.
Bandi Sanjay also urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to raise Telangana’s concerns on the Bankacharla project more strongly. He said he would support the CM’s stand on Bankacharla regardless of political differences, and welcomed a joint meeting of both Telugu state Chief Ministers on the issue. (Maxim News)
