Good News: Centre Increase Insurance Coverage From Rs.5 Lakhs To Rs.10 Lakhs

Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 26 (Maxim News):  The insurance coverage of the Ayushman Bharat scheme offered by the central government has been increased.  The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana scheme has so far provided health insurance of Rs.5 lakh. However, this insurance coverage has been increased to Rs.10 lakh for eligible families. The age limit is 70 years. This scheme has been introduced for senior citizens above that age.

The PM-JAY scheme has been designed to support poor and middle class families. Through this scheme, cashless and paperless treatment can be availed in government and private hospitals across the country.  Through this, health insurance coverage of Rs.10 lakhs is provided. Through this scheme, all pre-existing diseases are covered from the first day. Families with chronic medical problems can also get full insurance coverage through this scheme. There is no age limit or gender restriction for this.  

Senior citizens above 70 years of age will now get an additional insurance coverage of Rs.5 lakhs. This is in addition to the insurance coverage available to the family. This will take the total insurance coverage available to the family. This will take the total insurance coverage for the family to Rs.10 lakhs. For this scheme, people above 70 years of age are eligible to get this additional insurance coverage as per Aadhaar card.  (Maxim News)
