Good News From Central To Telangana And AP: Flood Relief Funds Released
Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 19 (Maxim News): The BJP–led Central government has released funds under disaster and flood relief to 5 states of the country. Funds worth Rs. 1554.99 crores have been released to the states of Telangana, AP, Nagaland, Odisha, and Tripura.
The release of these funds was approved in a high-level committee meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday (February 19). The Central Government is providing these funds to the states under the Disaster Response Fund in addition to the states affected by floods, flash floods, landslides, and cyclones in 2024.
Out of the Rs. 1554.99 crore released to the five states, Rs. 231.75 crore to Telangana allocation, Rs. 608.08 crore was allocated to AP, Rs. 288.93 crore to Tripura, Rs. 255.24 crore to Odisha and Rs. 170.99 crore to Nagaland. Meanwhile, it is known that rains and floods devastated the two Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in 2024. The flood waters swelled and the Budameru Vogu in AP and the Munneru Vagu in Telangana became violent, resulting in dozens of deaths and hundreds of people becoming homeless.
They lost everything in the floods and were stranded on the roads in a hopeless state. With this, the governments came to the aid of the flood victims. The roads were washed away and the canals were cut off due to the floods, causing huge losses to the government. As a result, the governments of the two Telugu states appealed to the Center to help the state, which was devastated by the floods. The damage caused by the floods was assessed and a report was sent to the Center. The government recently released funds. (Maxim News)
