If this process is completed, there is a possibility of immediate revenue generation for the government.  The government is estimating that about Rs. 10 thousand crores will be deposited in the treasury.  In this cont ext, in the review conducted with the senior officials of the municipal department, it is clear that there are no legal implications for the consideration of LRS applications.  it has been revealed that there are no stays on this process from the Supreme Court and the High Court.  With this, the government has issued clear instructions to the lower level officials, municipal commissioners, district panchayat officials and field level staff involved in this process.  It has been directed to start the examination of the pending applications and take action to issue certification documents as per the rules.

The government of the day received applications for regularization of plots and layouts under the LRS scheme for two months form August 31 to October 31, 2020.  To this extent, about 25.70 lakh people have applied from all the panchayats, municipalities and corporations of the state.  3.58 lakh applications were received under HMDA, 1.06 lakh under GHMC, 13.69 lakh from Municipal Corporations and Municipalities, 6 lakh from Gram Panchayats and 1.35 lakh from Urban Development Authorities. In this regard, according to G.O No. 131 issued by the government, it has been decided that if the plot owner applies individually, he will pay a fee of Rs. 1000, and if a layout developer applies (regardless of how many plots) he will have to pay a fee of Rs. 10 thousand.  But Juvwadi Sagar Rao approached the Supreme Court challenging this.  However, as the government did not receive any interim orders from the High Court or the Supreme Court on the LRS applciations, the Municipal Administration Department suggested to take foward the process of LRS applciation on May 20, 2023.  (Maxim News)
