Govt Will Encourage Electric Vehicles in Future: Jagadish Reddy

Hyderabad, Oct.29 (Maxim News): Minister G Jagadish Reddy today said that the state government will encourage electric vehicles in future. The Minister took a ride of an electric bike at Hitex at a program here after inaugurating the EV Trade Expo.

He stated that the nation can cut Rs 250 cr funds being spent every year for import of fuels by using about 10000 electric vehicles. So far 138 charging stations were set up and 600 more to be available soon, he said.

As the use of fuel vehicles poses a challenge to the environment we have to use and support electric vehicles, Jagadish Reddy said.

The Minister stated that the government of Telangana will support and encourage electric vehicles. It will become useful andan alternative for beating the pollution by other vehicles.

He said that an adequate number of electric charging stations will be available as 24 hour power supply is available.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao are supporting electric vehicles, he informed. We encourage the companies producing electric vehicles.

The electric bikes and charging stations were set up as part of a program to push for electric vehicles to check pollution by fuel based vehicles.

The Minister said that electric vehicles were started and the future will be of electric vehicles. Since pollution is causing a big problem there will be less use of fuel used vehicles in future. The future can be seen with more electric vehicles, the Minister maintained. (Maxim News)
