Hyderabad, June 5 (Maxim News): On the occasion of World environment protection day Endowment and Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today planted saplings in Nirmal district. The Minister said that they have kept ready 100 crores of saplings across 10000 nurseries in the state. So far we have planted 113 crore saplings in four phases of harithaharam he said adding that another 87 crore saplings are to be planted in future. We are planning to turn the state into a Green Telangana to get more rains and heap in golden harvest, Reddy said.
Aim of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is to ensure that 230 cr saplings are planted to grow greenery to 36 percent which is essential. The government is for expanding greenery through special drive and public should cooperate in this regard. He exhorted the people to plant saplings at their houses and compounds and farm lands. We need to plant and protect them to build a new environment free from pollution.
Indrakarn Reddy said that the people should take oath to provide pollution free environment to young and future generations in the state. Pollution in environment reduces rainfall and increase pollution he said. To check this we should voluntarily take up green drive. The government will support the people in this regard he said.
