Guidelines On Dog Bite | Hyderabad, Feb 23 (Maxim News): Keeping in view the incident of dog bites prevailing in the state, particularly the incident of Amberpet in which a 5 years old boy died due to a dog bite, to bring this under control this dog menace, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department has issued guidelines with 13 points.

Principal Chief Secretary to Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Arvind Kumar has directed the authorities to speed up the sterilization process for dogs. Also, it said that the areas where there are more dogs in the city should be identified and the incidents of dog bites should be controlled.

The government has asked the city residents to call the GHMC helpline number 040-21111111 and inform them about the dogs. I have been advised not to throw waste from meat shops and hotels on the roads.

The government has ordered to educate the people about the nature of dogs with the help of voluntary organizations. Also, the government said that all schools in the city should explain to students how to deal with stray dogs.

It has been said that people should be made aware of stray dogs in colony societies and slums. Sanitation staff said that they should take steps to create awareness in the respective areas. It has also given instructions to operate on dogs in the Musi catchment and uninhabited areas.

The government has made it clear that measures should be taken to adopt stray dogs and that measures should be taken to provide immediate treatment to dog-bite victims.

Finally, the government has instructed the GHMC officials to set up water bowls away from the crowd for the stray dogs. (Maxim News)
