Gutha files nomination for Council Chairman’s post

Hyderabad, March 13 (Maxim News): TRS MLC Gutha Sukhendar Reddy on Sunday filed his nomination papers for the post of chairman of Telangana Legislative Council here today. He submitted his papers in the office of the Legislature secretary.

He was accompanied by Ministers Vemula Prashanth Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy, Mohd Mahmood Ali, Satyavathi Rathod, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Government Whips MS Prabhakar Rao, Gongidi Sunitha, Rythu Bandhu Samithi chairman Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, TRS MPs, MLCs and MLAs who extended their support and congratulated him.

Gutha Sukhendar Reddy expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for nominating him for the Chairman’s post for the second time. He also profusely thanked members of all the parties for unanimously re-electing him as Council chairman. He also assured the members that he would strive to function as chairman impartially and dignified manner as before. Sukhender Reddy was elected as chairman of the Legislative council from the MLAs quota for second time. Earlier, he was also elected as Member of Parliament from the Nalgonda constituency three times.

It may be mentioned here that the schedule for election of chairman of Legislative Council was released on Saturday. For the first time, Gutha sworn in as Council chairman on September 11, 2019 and continued in the post till June first week. After expiry of his term, MLC Bhopal Reddy was appointed as pro-tem Speaker in his place. Presently, MIM MLC Syed Amin-ul-Hasan Jafri is continuing as Pro-tem Speaker. (Maxim News)
