GWMC Providing Free Meals To 10,000 People Every Day: Mayor Gundu Sudharani

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Bhaskar said the State government had imposed the lockdown to check the spread of the Covid-19, an infectious disease that is ravaging the world. He appreciated the GWMC for setting up the free meal distribution centres to save the staff from hunger.

Warangal Urban, May 19: Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar along with Mayor Gundu Sudharani inaugurated the free meal distribution centre near Kazipet railway station under the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) limits here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Bhaskar said the State government had imposed the lockdown to check the spread of the Covid-19, an infectious disease that is ravaging the world. He appreciated the GWMC for setting up the free meal distribution centres to save the staff from hunger.

Mayor Gundu Sudharani said that they had set up nine free meal centres for the benefit of the sanitation workers, migrant workers, orphans, ASHA workers conducting fever survey and ANMs in the wake of the lockdown. The free food is provided to 10,000 people every day through Kazipet, Collectorate, Hanmakonda Maternity Hospital, Adalat, MGM, CKM Hospital, Under Bridge, Warangal Railway Station, Enumamula Market area and other centres, she added. GWMC in-charge commissioner Satyanarayana, corporators Jakkula Ravinder Yadav, Vijaya Sri Rajali, Sanku Narsing, DyEE Narendar, Sanitary Supervisor Narendhar, Sanitary Inspectors Karunakar, Ravinder, Yadaiah, AE Venkateshwarlu and others were present.
