Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS leader T. Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress government on Sunday during a ration kit distribution program in Musheerabad.
Addressing a gathering at Anjuman School, he accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of neglecting critical welfare initiatives including the Shadi Mubarak scheme and the Minority Sub-Plan. Rao claimed the current administration has failed to enhance the honorarium for Imams and Mouzzens despite previous commitments.
He further alleged that the Chief Minister is functioning as a “junior version” of Modi and Yogi by adopting aggressive governance styles and neglecting the foundational work established by KCR.
The BRS leader expressed concern over the declining standards of public healthcare in the city. He noted a severe lack of doctors at Basti Dawakhanas and questioned why the KCR Kit is no longer being distributed in government hospitals.
Rao emphasized that the previous government had maintained these facilities with high efficiency, which he believes the current leadership has failed to replicate.
International conflict impacts local prices
The event was organized by former MLC and Waqf Board Chairman Mohd Saleem, who distributed essential supplies to 1500 beneficiaries as part of a larger 10,000 kit initiative. During his speech, Saleem announced that he would soon distribute clothes alongside ration cards to support widows and the poor.

He also criticized the Central government under PM Modi for the rising prices of LPG cylinders, which has placed an immense financial burden on household budgets.
Both leaders also reflected on the global impact of the ongoing Iran-Israel-US war. Harish Rao noted that the conflict has led to a sharp increase in the costs of gas and groceries for the common man. He concluded the meeting with a prayer for the war to end, stating that global peace is essential for local economic stability.
Other prominent attendees included BRS Musheerabad MLA Muta Gopal, Muta Jaisimha, Mohd Shareef, and Dildar Hussain.
