Harish Rao terms BJP as Jumla party
Hyderabad, Octo.16 (NSS): Terming the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as Jumla party, Finance Minister T Harish Rao demanded that at first, the saffron party should implement Rs.3,000 monthly pension scheme in its ruling States and later, it should make a promise of it in Telangana.
Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, Minister Harish Rao along with MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, former Minister Laxma Reddy, PUC Chairman Jeevan Reddy and former GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan said that during the by-election to Huzurabad and Dubbaka constituencies and GHMC polls, the BJP leaders had made a promise of giving Rs 3,000 pension to the people by the union government if their party was voted to elect.
” After winning the elections, the BJP leaders from the State forgot their promise and didn’t bring even a single rupee of pension from the Centre. Now, with the polling date of Munugodu by-election approaching fast, the State BJP leaders are again promising Rs.3,000 pension and are trying to deceive the people with the false promise,” he pointed out.
Telangana is only the State in India giving Rs.2,000 monthly pension to people, The BJP ruling States like Maharashtra gives Rs.1,000, Prime Minister Narendra Modi born Gujarat pays Rs. 750 while Karnataka offers only Rs. 600 pension. How can the BJP leaders who didn’t implement Rs.3,000 monthly pension scheme in their respective ruling States, can give the pension in Telangana,” he questioned.
Even though the World Health Organization (WHO) cautioned that the Nalgonda will be turned into a noman zone in the future if the issue of flouride is not resolved. But, the successive governments in the combined Andhra Pradesh didn’t solve the flouride issue and the people had suffered from fluorosis for over seven decades. However, after the formation of Telangana State, the TRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken various measures, including the supply of piped drinking water to all households and completely eradicated the flouride issue, he said.
Coming down heavily on the BJP government at the Centre for failing to extend the help for the development of Telangana, Harish Rao said that it had not resolved the issue of water sharing between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States since 2014 and didn’t allocate a single medical college to the Telangana during its eight years tenure.
The BJP leaders don’t have any right to seek votes in the Munugodu by-election since the Modi government has done nothing to Telangana. I appeal to the Munugodu people to a teach fitting lesson to the Jumla party in the ensuing by-poll, Harish Rao said. (NSS)
