HC Orders Suspension Of RDO, MRO For Denying Relief To Mallannasagar Oustees

Hyderabad, Aug.20 (Maxim News): In a setback to the State government, the High Court on Tuesday ordered suspension of two top officials of Siddipet district for neglecting to pay compensation to displaced farmers of Mallanna Sagar project.

According to the information, the High Court got serious over negligent attitude of the officials for not implementing its previous orders to pay compensation to the victims of the project. The court has suspended and awarded two months jail term to RDO Vijayender Reddy and Toguta Tahsildar Prabhu for reported dereliction in this regard. The displaced people filed another petition in the High Court seeking justice for their lands and assets.

The court got serious and announced two months’ jail term and suspension of the two officials. The court also slapped Rs 2,000 fine on them. (Maxim News)
