HC Questions State Govt on 5.34 Acres of Gandhi Memorial Fund Registered to Private Individuals

Hyderabad, Oct 10 (Maxim News):  The Telangana High Court has issued notices to the state government in a public interest litigation challenging the registration of 5.34 acres of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Fund in Hyderabad Kothi in the name of private individuals.

The High Court ordered the Chief Secretary, General Administration Department, Chief Secretary, Revenue Department, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, Siddipet district Collector, RDO, Tehsildar, and others to file counters with full details within 6 weeks.

This petition was filed by Tupakula Balarangam and others of the village claiming that the land belonging to the Gandhi Memorial Fund in Ponnala village of Siddipet Urban Mandal of Siddipet district has been alienated.  they wanted to cancel the registration which was done against the law on August 6, 2022, during the previous BRS government headed by the then Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.  (Maxim News)
