Hyderabad, May 16 (Maxim News): Endowments and Forest Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today said the High Court decision’s to rule out intervention on Mallanna Sagar project issue was a slap on opposition.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, the minister said the Opposition parties should at least now learn lessons on the projects, which are key for state development. He also criticized the Opposition for coming in the way of development and trying to put on hold the irrigation projects. The Opposition comments on irrigation projects of massive irregularities and corruption was totally wrong and being made through malafide intentions, he said. “There was no truth in what the Opposition was screaming of corruption and budget escalation for filling the pockets of the contractors”, the minister said.
The High Court denied intervention in the issue of stalling the works and instead asked the displaced persons and victims of the project to get the compensation. The officials have informed the court of giving suitable compensation to the dislocated people or victims under the project which is part of prestigious Kaleshwaram project. The minister also admonished the Congress, BJP and other parties like CPI and CPM for making a hue and cry on the projects. With no other go they are making false and cheap politics, Indrakaran said.
“The government however will not stall the works of the projects. The Kaleshwaram project is lifeline for Telangana and the government will complete it on time”, he said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was fulfilling the dreams of the people of irrigating one crore acres to flourish agriculture across the state of Telangana he said. He also claimed that the TRS Government has offered suitable compensation like nowhere in the country to the victims of the project. No other government has so far been given such a compensation to the displaced people in any other state so far he said. The State government will do justice to them and give suitable benefits, he added. (Maxim News)
