Hearing In High Court On The Allocation Of Funds To Tablighi Jamaat

Hyderabad, Jan 2 (Maxim News): The High Court of Telangana has taken up the hearing on the allocation of funds to Tablighi Jamaat.

The Petitioner’s contention is that the government has nothing to do with the funds of the Waqf Board.  In his petition, the petitioner stated that the government has no right to order the Waqf Board to release the funds.  The petition asked the High court to order the State government headed by Revanth Reddy to cancel the GO issued for allocating funds.  The assets of the Waqf Board are for the welfare of the minority claims the government.

The petitioner’s lawyer argued that Tablighi Jamaat has been banned by some other countries including in Russia. The High court asked that Russia has also banned Bhagavad Gita, are we following it. The lawyer of the petitioner stated that a similar meeting was held in Bhainsa in 2020 there were disturbances at that time and tensions arose.

On December 13, a grant of funds of Rs. 2.45 crore was issued. However, the High Court has directed the government to file a counter with complete details.  (Maxim News)
