Hyderabad, July 21 (Maxim News): Meteorological Department Officials said that there is a possibility of heavy rains in Bhagyanagar for the next two days. Orange Alert will continue for the city. The twin reservoirs have become aquatic.

Hussain Sagar is looking like a full pot.  Hussain Sagar is getting flooded due to heavy rains in the upper areas. Flood water is coming into Hussain Sagar from Banjara Hills, Picket, and Kukatpally canals.  While Hussain Sagar has 1517 cusecs of flood water inflow, the water level is close to full tank level. The current water level of Hussain Sagar is 513.23 meters. The full tank level is 513.41 meters. With this, the authorities have released water from Hussain Sagar into the enclosure through the spouts. Hussain Sagar’s outflow is 998 cusecs of water.

It started raining from Friday night till Saturday! Showers in some places, and heavy rain in some places! With this, the state is soaked! People’s lives have stopped! In any case, the ponds and streams have become water. Groundwater levels have increased in many places. The rains gave breath to the paddy crops. Farmers are happy that cotton cultivation will be good while paddy planting is gaining momentum. Combined Khammam district is getting rain. Charla mandal recorded the highest rainfall of 15 cm.  It has rained more than 9 cm in Dummugudem, 7 cm in Manuguru, Julurupadu Vensuru, Kamepalli, and more than 6 cm in Singareni and Pinapaka.

An average of 4.9 cm of rain fell in Khammam district and 4.5 cm in Bhadradri Kothagudem. In Khammam district, all the mandals received more than 3 cm of rain. It is the same rain all Saturday in the city of Hyderabad. There is a situation where people cannot go out without umbrellas.  3 cm in Shaikpet, Yousufguda.  IOt rained.  The full water level of Hussain Sagar was 513.41 feet and reached 13.23 feet.  More than 2 cm of rain fell in many mandals of Warangal district.  It rained from Saturday morning to night in the Joint Medak and Rangareddy districts.  More than 2 cm of rain fell in many places.  The rain that started on Friday afternoon in Palamuru district did not stop even on Saturday.  5.86 cm of rain in Kosgi and 49.5 cm in Wanaparthy. Combined Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Adilabad received non-stop rain. 

The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has said that heavy rains will occur in the state on Sunday as well.  Heavy rains are likely in Mahabubnagar, Naraynpet, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Nirmal, Adilabad and Asifabad districts.  An average rainfall of 1.7 cm has been recorded across the state.  Further, 50 mandals are deficient in rainfall by 20-59 percent.

On the other hand, it is raining all over Telangana.  Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari has directed the District Collectors to be vigilant.  On July 20 and 21, the Chief Secretary held a teleconference with the District Collectors in the background of the Orange Alert being announced for 11 districts.  The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rains will occur.in 11 districts of North Telangana. 

The Chief Secretary reminded the collectors that the weather department has issued a warning that heavy rains will occur in Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Machiryala, Hanmakonda, Jagtyala, Khammam, Kothagudem and Nirmal Districts today and tomorrow. Control rooms should be set up in these 11 district collectorates and coordination meetings should be held with officials of police and other departments.
