Heavy Rains: 80 Trains Canceled In Telugu States

Hyderabad, Sept 1 (Maxim News): Heavy rains are lashing two Telugu states due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. Life has come to a standstill in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as it has been raining non-stop for the last three days.

Due to heavy rains and floods, the roads are facing the rivers and the transport sector has been affected. In some places, heavy flood water reached the roads and in some places, the roads were washed away due to the surge of flood.

Rains have affected the railway system. Railway tracks were washed away due to flooding in many places. Due to this, the South Central Railway canceled trains in a big way. Officials of South Central Railway have announced that more than 80 trains passing through Telugu states will be canceled.  Some have been diverted and others have been temporarily canceled, he said.

DM Railway CPRo Sridhar responded to the cancellation of trains. He said that the situation is being monitored from the Disaster Management Control Room of Railway Nilayam.

Passengers said that there was no need to worry. Trains are being canceled only for the safety of passengers. He said that with the help of RTC buses and the state government, passengers are being ensured not to face any difficulties.

It has been classified that the track restoration work will be undertaken after the rains subside.  Meanwhile, it is known that train traffic between AP and Telangana was severely disrupted due to heavy rains in Mahabubabad district.  (Maxim News)
