Heavy Rains: CM Revanth Reddy Conducts Aerial Survey
Heavy Rains | Hyderabad, Aug 28 (Maxim News): Telangana is witnessing unprecedented heavy rains across the state.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy conducts an aerial survey on Thursday (August 28) in the districts most affected by heavy rains and floods.
He took off from Begumpet Airport in a special helicopter a short while ago. He was accompanied by Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud.
Earlier, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a high-level review meeting on the rains in the state at his residence in Jubilee Hills.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Seethakka, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, and top officials participated in the review meeting.
Revanth issued instructions to the officials on this occasion to alert all the departments in the flood-affected districts and to monitor the relief measures to be taken immediately. He also made it clear that there should be no indifference in alerting the people and expediting the relief measures.
Heavy Rains are wreaking havoc
Rains are wreaking havoc across the state of Telangana. Torrential rains are falling day and night. Many districts have been flooded due to the rains. As the flood reached low-lying areas, people were trapped in waterlogging.
Streams and rivers are overflowing. Traffic has come to a standstill due to heavy water on the roads. This has damaged transport facilities. Along with the roads being flooded, trains have also been cancelled.
Meanwhile, State Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao held a teleconference last night with the Collectors and SPs of Medak, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Nirmal, and Sircilla districts, which were severely affected by the heavy rains, to review the situation.
The CS instructed the officials to evacuate people from flooded villages and low-lying areas to rehabilitation centers as heavy rains are likely to continue on Thursday (August 28). He suggested that efforts should be made to restore the power lines and transformers damaged by the rains on a war footing.
Medak district has recorded the highest rainfall ever recorded at 30.1 cm. Sardana in Havelighanapur mandal received 30 cm of torrential rain. Nagpur recorded 27 cm of rainfall. Chegunta recorded 22 cm and Ramayampet mandals recorded 20 cm of rainfall, officials said.
It has been raining continuously since nightfall till dawn. To this extent, officials have announced that bus services from Medak towards Bodhan and Banswada have been stopped.

Several colonies in Ramayampet mandal have been flooded due to the heavy rain. Officials are rescuing people trapped in the colonies.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will visit the district in Medak. The CM will inspect the flooded areas and flood-affected areas like Medak, Kamareddy, Siricilla, Nizamabad, etc. Later, he will hold a review with the officials and give directions on the steps to be taken. He asked the people of the district to be alert. The CM advised that if there is any problem, they should inform the officials immediately. (Maxim News)
