Heavy rains forecast for today and tomorrow

Heavy rains | Hyderabad, September 26: The Met Department has issued a warning that rains are expected in several districts of Telangana on Thursday and Friday.

The department has also issued a warning for gale-force winds, with gusts reaching 40-50 km per hour.

The continuous low pressure over the Bay of Bengal has weakened, but its remnants are still bringing rain to the state. The districts likely to be affected are Adilabad, Asifabad, Manchiryala, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagatyala, Rajanna Sirisilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Mulugu, Bhupalapally and Kamareddy.

Many parts of Telangana received heavy rains on Wednesday, with Eturu in Mulugu district recording the highest rainfall of 123.3 mm.

Other districts that received heavy rains were Suryapet, Adilabad, Warangal, Sangareddy and Kamareddy.
