Heavy Rains Forecast Today In Hyderabad, Showers to Continue for Five Days
Hyderabad, June 15 (Maxim News): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Telangana, predicting heavy to very heavy rains today (June 15), followed by continued rainfall across the state over the next five days due to active monsoon conditions and surface circulations.
According to officials, a surface depression persists over south-central Maharashtra and adjoining areas at around 7.6 km above sea level, gradually spreading towards the southwest. Additionally, a separate surface depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal has merged with this system, intensifying the weather activity over the region.
Yellow Alert for Several Districts
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Siddipet, Medak, Sangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Vikarabad districts, warning residents of possible heavy rains, thunder, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h. Citizens in these areas are advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during intense spells.
Other districts are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, with occasional gusty winds and thunderstorms in isolated pockets.
Hyderabad Weather Update
In the city, the IMD has forecast light to moderate rain, with chances of heavy showers at isolated locations. Commuters are urged to plan accordingly, as brief periods of intense rain could lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Rain Intensity Likely to Reduce
Weather experts have indicated that the intensity of rainfall will gradually decrease from June 16, though scattered showers accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds are still likely in some districts during the coming days. (Maxim News)
