Heavy Rains In Telangana For More Four Days

Hyderabad, July 25, 2025 (Maxim News): The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather warning for Telangana, forecasting heavy rainfall across the state for the next four days. A yellow alert has been sounded for several districts, urging residents and authorities to stay cautious.

The extended spell of rainfall is being attributed to a low-pressure area forming over the northern Bay of Bengal, which is expected to bring gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph along with widespread rains.

Heavy Rainfall Batters State

On Thursday, heavy downpours lashed various parts of the state, leading to overflowing streams, canals, and submerged low-level bridges in multiple districts. According to official data:

  • Kautal in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad recorded the highest rainfall at 6.5 cm
  • Aswaraopet in Bhadradri Kothagudem received 2.6 cm of rainfall
  • Rainfall was recorded in over 836 locations across Telangana

Floodwaters have started rising in Munneru and several rivers in Mulugu and Bhadradri districts are flowing at dangerous levels, affecting daily life and connectivity in low-lying areas of Bhupalpally and Khammam.

District-Wise Rainfall Forecast:

The IMD has provided a day-wise forecast for the affected districts:

  • Friday: Showers in Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Medak, Kamareddy, Adilabad, and Khammam
  • Saturday: Rain likely across all districts
  • Sunday: More rainfall in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri, Khammam, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial

  • Monday: Rains expected in the above districts along with Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Ranga Reddy, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba, and Gadwal

Residents are advised to:

  • Avoid traveling through low-lying or flood-prone areas
  • Stay updated with official IMD alerts

Local authorities have been put on alert to monitor vulnerable zones and take necessary precautionary measures, especially in rural and remote regions where access may be affected by flooding.
