Heavy Rains In Telangana For Next Three Days, Alert Issued
Hyderabad, July 8, 2025 (Maxim News): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted widespread rainfall across Telangana for the next three days, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong gusty winds, urging residents and authorities to remain alert.
On Tuesday, the IMD has issued an orange alert for Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, and Nirmal districts, warning of thunderstorms with lightning and wind speeds reaching 40–50 km/h.
In addition, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in several other districts, including:
- Northern Telangana: Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Mancherial
- Central & Eastern Telangana: Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam
- Southern Telangana: Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri
- Hyderabad and Surrounding Areas: Rangareddy, Medchal–Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy
On Wednesday, heavy rainfall is expected to continue in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nirmal, while moderate rains are forecast for Nizamabad, parts of north-central Telangana, and Hyderabad.

By Thursday, the IMD warns of another spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall in multiple districts including:
- Adilabad, Asifabad, Nirmal, Mancherial, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli,
- Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda,
- Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Medak, and Kamareddy
The yellow alert issued by the IMD for these regions indicates the possibility of localized flooding, disrupted transportation, and damage to crops. Residents are advised to stay indoors during heavy spells, avoid low-lying areas, and follow updates from local authorities.
