Heavy Rains Lashed Telangana: Jangaon Records Highest Rainfall

Hyderabad, May 28 (Maxim News): Telangana is receiving widespread rainfall across the state due to the southwest monsoon and the effect of a low pressure area. Torrential rains lashed the respective districts yesterday.

Meteorological department officials said that Jangaon district in the state recorded the highest rainfall. 136.5 mm was recorded in Guduru in Jangaon district, 121.5 mm in gundala in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, 119.0 mm in Mangazpet in Mulugu district, 118.0 mm in Peddakodgai in Kamareddy district, 116.3 mm in Arvapalli in suryapet district, and 115.8 mm in Ksimpeta in karimnagar district. Rainfall has been recorded.

The Hyderabad meteorological Center has announced that there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in several districts in the state on Wednesday and thursday. Officials said tht heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at places in jagtial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Siddipet and Jangaon districts on Wednesday. An orange alert has been issued for the respective districts. A yellow alert has been issued for Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad and Sangareddy districts.

On Thursday, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mulugu districts are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places. An orange alert has been issued for the respective districts. A yellow alert has been issued for Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad and Warangal districts. (Maxim News)
