Heavy Security In Jubilee Hills: 1600 Local Police Along With Central Forces
Hyderabad, Oct 28 (Maxim News): As the polling date for the Jubilee Hills By-Election approaches, election officials are making arrangements. A total of 407 polling booths are being prepared in 127 polling stations. 1628 ballot units, four for each polling booth. Officials have made an additional 20 percent of the ballot units ready. 509 control units and 509 VVPATs have been prepared, Randomization of EVMs has already been completed.
On the other hand, central forces are coming to Jubilee Hills constituency today, October 28. Seven companies of central forces and 16 hundred local police will be deployed to ensure security. The Election Commission has issued orders to show the register of expenses made by the candidates so far to the election expenditure observers today. It has issued orders that every payment made above ten thousand should be in the form of a cheque.
So far, officials have seized Rs. 2.90 crores in cash during the checks. 11 cases have been registered against those who violated the election code. The police have registered a case against BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha for campaigning near mosques. Another case has been registered against former ministers Mallareddy and Puvvada Ajay for campaigning without informing the election officer.
There are a total of 58 candidates in the Jubilee Hills bypoll. Naveen Yadav from Congress, Lankala Deepak Reddy from BJP, and Maganti Sunitha from BRS. While polling will be held on November 11, counting will be held on the 14th. (Maxim News)
