High Court Directed AG To Explain Status Of Disqualification Petition Pending With Speaker

Hyderabad, June 6 (Maxim News): The High Court of Telangana directed Advocate General A.Sudarshan Reddy to explain the status of the disqualification petitions pending with the Speaker regarding party defection.

MLAs Tellam Venkatarao, kadiam Srihari and Danam Nagender who were elected on behalf of BRS party have joined the Congress.

Justice B.vijaysen Reddy took up the hearing on the separate petitions filed by BRS leaders Padi Kaushik Reddy and others requesting that the speaker should disqualify the MLAs who defected to Congress. As the Speaker’s office refused to take disqualification petitions against the MLAs, they approached the court and were brought to the Speaker’s office by the government lawyer.

Later, the High Court issued notices to the concerned MLAs, the Speaker’s office and the government on April `15 to respond. The judge who conducted the hearing directed Advocate General A.Sudarshan Reddy to explain the stage of the disqualification petition to the Speaker The hearing was adjourned to June 10.
