High Court Dismisses KCR’s Petition Against Judicial Commission

Hyderabad, July 1 (Maxim News):  The High Court of Telangana has dismissed the petition filed by BRS President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao petition to abolish the Commission of Inquiry on Power Purchase and Construction of Power projects.

it may be recalled that KCR has knocked on the doors of the Telangana High Court seeking a direction to stay all further proceedings of Justice L. Narasimha Reddy Commission constituted by the Congress government to inquire into power purchase agreements made previous BRS government and construction of thermal power plants at Manuguru and Damaracherla.  KCR who consecutively served as CM of Telangana for two terms, filed a writ petition challenging the constitution of the Commission.

KCR has stated in the petition that the Electricity Commission is acting unilaterally.  In this case, the High Court disagreed with the arguments of his lawyers.  On the other hand, the Advocate General (AG0 said that the Electricity Commission is acting according to the rules.  He said that the petition filed by KCR is not admissible.  The High Court upheld the arguments of the AG.  The Electricity Commission has made it clear that the investigation can continue.
