High Court to Deliver Key Verdict on Group 1 Exams Today
- Verdict on Group 1 petitions to decide fate of selected candidates
- Irregularities alleged in evaluation, appointment orders on hold
High Court | Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court is set to pronounce its verdict on Tuesday regarding multiple petitions related to the Group 1 recruitment process.
Justice Namavarapu Rajeswara Rao will deliver the judgment, which is expected to have a significant bearing on the future of selected candidates as well as the ongoing recruitment process.
The petitions were filed by candidates who had cleared the examination, along with others challenging the process.
While some petitioners demanded cancellation of the exams citing alleged irregularities in the evaluation process, others argued against any disruption, urging the court not to nullify examinations that are already at the order issuance stage.

The Group 1 selection process had been completed earlier, but the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has withheld appointment orders pending the High Court’s decision. The legal challenge had placed both successful candidates and the recruitment authority in a state of uncertainty.
Arguments on these petitions were heard on July 7, and the case has since been reserved for judgment. The final verdict will not only determine the validity of the examinations but will also impact hundreds of aspirants who have been awaiting clarity on their future appointments.
With Group 1 services considered the most prestigious in the state’s administrative framework, the High Court’s ruling is being closely watched by candidates, policymakers, and the wider public.
The outcome is expected to either pave the way for immediate issuance of appointment orders or compel the authorities to revisit the evaluation process.
As the verdict comes today, the ruling is expected to provide long-awaited clarity on whether the examinations will stand or face cancellation, thereby shaping the trajectory of Telangana’s most crucial recruitment exercise.
