High Court’s Warning To Principal Secretary Of Tourism On Restoration Of Hill Fort Palace
Hyderabad, March 21 (Maxim News): The High court of Telangana has expressed its displeasure against the authorities regarding the restoration of the Hill fort Palace, which is recognized as a historical building in Hyderabad.
A bench of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Tukaranji expressed deep displeasure over the non-implementation of their orders to inspect the Hill Fort building structure and submit a study report. A warning has been issued to the Principal Secretary of Tourism for non-implementation of the orders and said that such negligence will be considered as the crime of contempt of court and will be kept in the court from morning till evening.
“Hill fort is a people’s property, a historical treasure, it is the government’s responsibility to protect it. Orders issued on January 10 have not been implemented so far. Samples were collected on March 15, if it takes that much time to collect the samples, when will the report be made? All the officers who were present in the past will be called again to appear in person, the bench expressed its anger.
If the report is not submitted by the date of the next hearing, contempt of court action will be taken, it said. The Chief Secretary of the Tourism department will be made to stand in the court from morning until the end of the court duties. The next hearing was postponed to April 20.
The Hyderabad Heritage Trust filed a Public Interest Litigation in 2020 to restore the Hill fort or it should be handed over to them, they will undertake the restoration work. In the wake of this petition, the government has set up an expert committee under the auspices of the National Academy of Construction to study the construction of the Hill fort building under the pressure of the High Court. The Government disclosed to the High Court that the samples were collected on March 15. the High Court expressed its displeasure at the request for another three weeks. (Maxim News)
