The Congress govt will take along Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and all the communities in its march to develop Telangana and Hyderabad. I want to remind Amit Shahji that there is a new Congress govt in Telangana. Neither Shah nor PM Narendra Modi can scrap the 4% Muslim quota started by then Congress CM, the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, in the undivided state.

The CM’s direct remarks on Modi came on a day the PM was also in the city to participate in a roadshow.

After scoring a duck in the recent assembly elections in Greater Hyderabad which favored the BRS, the Congress is on mission mode ahead of Lok Sabha polls to win the hearts of city voters.

In the 2023 assembly elections, of the total 24 assembly seats in Greater Hyderabad, the BRS secured 16, AIMIM got seven and BJP won one. The Congress, which won 64 seats in rural areas, had drawn a blank in GHMC limits. Now, the biggest task before the Congress party is to get at least two Lok Sabha polls in the Greater Hyderabad area. Of the four Lok Sabha seats in the region – Hyderabad, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, and Chevella – the party is eyeing three seats barring Hyderabad which is represented by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
The long-term goal though is to prepare the ground to win the GHMC election (due in December 2025) and also the surrounding municipalities where elections are likely to be held early next year.

Consequently, soon after taking over as chief minister, A Revanth Reddy began focusing on issues that were not taken up or not resolved by the previous BRS govt in the GHMC limits
