Historic Deal In The Defence Sector: 114 Rafale Jets From France
Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan 18 (Maxim News): The Indian government has approved a huge Defence deal with France. The Centre has given the green signal for the purchase of 114 Rafale fighter jets under this deal. The deal is estimated to be worth around Rs 3.25 lakh crore. This will be one of the largest deals in the Indian defense sector so far.
The deal is not limited to the purchase of fighter jets alone, but is designed to give a major boost to domestic manufacturing. In the first phase, 18 Rafale jets will be directly purchased from France. The plan is to manufacture the remaining aircraft in India, government sources said.
These 114 Rafale fighter jets will provide more power to the Indian Air Force. These jets equipped with modern technology will significantly increase the combat capability in the airspace. The Rafale jets already in the Indian Air Force have proven their capability. Now the strength of the IAF will increase further with the new jets.
An important aspect of this agreement is ‘Make in India’. The central government hopes to manufacture a large number of Rafale jets in India. For this, French companies will partner with Indian companies. Plans are already being made to manufacture some key components in the country.
Indian companies will get big opportunities in the process of manufacturing Rafale fighter jets. This will further develop the domestic aircraft manufacturing sector. Along with increasing job opportunities, technology will also come to the country. If this deal is completed, India will be better prepared to face the security challenges coming from its neighbors like Pakistan and China. India’s position in air defense will be further strengthened. This will become a good reinforcement for the existing Rafale jets.
This major deal will further strengthen the strategic ties between India and France. Cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense will reach a new level. The purchase of 114 Rafale fighter jets will not only enhance India’s defense capabilities, but will also be a key step forward in terms of domestic manufacturing, employment and international relations.
