HMDA to distribute one lakh clay Ganesh idols at 41 locations in city

Hyderabad, Aug.25 (Maxim News): As part of promoting the concept of “Eco Ganesha” / “Green Ganesha” / “Clay Ganesha” since long, this year too, the HMDA is making arrangements to distribute one lakh 8” clay Ganesh Idols to the public, NGOs free of cost to encourage use of Clay Ganesh Idols, so as to create awareness in the public in protection of the environment.

The HMDA has been distributing clay idols of Ganesha every year to the public and NGOs since 2017 and this year at 41 locations identified in Hyderabad. The arrangements are made to distribute directly to the public at various locations and also on mobile vans involving the HMDA staff and officers in the work. The distribution will be made between August 25 and 30. The officers are available at the locations and may contact them on their mobile phone numbers for details on the distribution of Clay Ganesh Idols.

As part of promoting the concept of “Eco Ganesha” / “Green Ganesha” / “Clay Ganesha” since long as immersion of such idols in water bodies may not have any debilitating effect on water quality. It may be mentioned here that the biggest concern of urbanisation is pollution – be it air, water or ground – all contributed by factors like increasing density of population, transportation, waste disposal practices and so on.

The State Government is striking a right balance between development and conservation by giving highest priority to maintain ecological balance in urban sector alongside its known priorities of infrastructure creation, industrial promotion, employment generation and so on. Initiatives like Haritha Haram, creation of Urban Forest Blocks, establishment of Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs), Municipal Waste Management practices are aimed at improving the “quality of life” to the urban citizens.
