Hyderabad: A home guard was killed on the spot after a jeep collided with his two-wheeler in Basar town of Nirmal district. The fatal road accident occurred on Friday and led to immediate police action.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Ramana, a home guard attached to Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam in Basar. Officials said the jeep dashed into his bike, causing him to suffer severe head injuries. He died instantly at the scene due to the impact of the collision. Police reached the spot soon after the incident and began preliminary inquiries.
Meanwhile, police confirmed that Ramana was a resident of Pardi (B) village in Kubheer mandal. He had been working as a home guard at the famous Sri Gnana Saraswathi temple in Basar for a long time. Officials noted that he had been regularly discharging his duties at the temple and was known to be committed to his work. The sudden death has caused shock among his colleagues and local residents.
Later, police examined the circumstances surrounding the crash. They suspected that rash and negligent driving by the jeep driver may have caused the accident. Based on this suspicion, officers registered a case against the jeep driver.
