Hookah Parlour Raided In Panjagutta: Owner And Customers Arrested

Hyderabad, Sept 4 (Maxim News): On the night of September 3, 2023, the Commissioner’s West zone Task Force, led by Inspector MD Khaleel Pasha and SI N.Ranjith Kumar raided a hookah parlor in AR Plaza, Ameerpet, Panjagutta.  The Parlour was being run by Mohd. Saleem, 33 of Sultan Nagar, Erragadda. 

The raid was conducted on a tip-off that the parlor was operating illegally and allowing customers to smoke a hookah. When the police arrived, they found 10 customers smoking hookah. The police also seized 15 hookah pots. 11 small boxes of flavors, 4 large boxes of flavors, 10 hookah pipes, 40 filters, 5 tongs, 13 coal boxes, 3 aluminum foils, and 1 coal heater from the parlor.  

Saleem and the 10 customers were arrested and taken to the Panjagutta police station.  They have been booked under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, of 2003. 

The police said that the raid was part of their ongoing crackdown on illegal hookah parlors in the city.  They warned that anyone found operating such a parlor would be severely punished (Maxim News)
