Huge Gold Mines In India Includes Bordering Karnataka And AP States

Gold reserves have been found in many districts of Odisha, which has now become a new hotspot for gold mining. It is said that a gold mine auction will be held highlighting gold reserves in areas like Sundargarh, Babarangpur, Keonjhar, and Deogadh.

Gold reserves are found in districts like Sundagarh, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Deogadh, searches are still underway in other areas like Kalkangiri, Sambalpur and Boudh. Gold reserves have also been found in some area of Mayurbhanj like Joshipur, Suryaguda, Ruwansi, Idelkucha, Maradhi, Suleipat and Badampahar.

The most important of these mines has been discovered in Deoghar district. Gold reserves were previously discovered at Adasa-Rampally. The Geological Survey of India (GSI) is currently conducting G-2 level exploration for copper in this area.

There are currently over 550 operating gold mines in India. There are 2,191.53 metric tonnes of gold reserves. Karnataka is the largest gold producing state in the country. As per the 2020-21 figures, there are 41 public sector mines and 232 private sector mines.

Gold mining in India is carried out in several places, including the Kolar Gold Mines (KGF) and the Hutti Gold Mines in Karnataka. These are the most famous in India. The Kolar Gold Mines (KGF) are located near Bangalore in Karnataka. These mines are one of the oldest and deepest gold mines in India.

The Hutti gold mines in Raichur district of Karnataka are known as the largest gold mines in India.  Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, and Hirabuddin and Kendrakocha mines in Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand are also famous for their gold mines.  (Maxim News)
