Hyderabad, Oct 18 (Maxim News): Incidents of people being caught illegally supplying gold and drugs at the Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad are frequent. Recently, DRI officials seized a huge amount of gold at the airport. The officials checked a passenger who had come to Hyderabad from Kuwait via Sharjah.
As a result, 7 gold bars were found in his possession. They weigh 1.8 kg. Officials said that the value of these bars is approximately Rs. 2.37 crore. They said that the accused has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.
Last month, DRI officials also seized 3.38 kg of gold in an iron box at this airport. The value of the gold is Rs. 3.6 crore. The authorities have arrested three accused involved in this incident.
They have been identified as residents of Kadapa district in AP. However, such illegal trafficking is mostly done at Shamshabad airport by passengers coming from West Asian countries like Kuwait, Dubai and Sharjah. (Maxim News)
